Los Angeles Garba

Long Weekend.

Rave, Soniya, & I arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday. Before the whole group arrived on Friday. So on Thursday night, the three of us and Nikhil and Hiren went out to dinner. It was the first time we had dinner together, (just the five of us) for about 5 years. Usually we would have a distant relative with us, or other children with us. It was nice. We caught up on old times. I enjoyed it immensely.

On Friday, we basically sat around and waited for our other family members, and friends to show up for GARBA. For the million of "Daily Addictonites" out their, GARBA is basically a traditional dance that occurs in the Month of October to celebrate the birth of one of many gods, Krishna. But in laymans term, it is a good excuse for us to together to meet old friends, and maybe NEW girls!...

ON Saturday, we waited around for 7 pm, that is when we went to dinner and a horrible Mexican restaurant. Afterwards we all got ready and went to Anaheim Convention Center to a massive garba. Typically, we would stay at the garba until 2 a.m., but it became so crowded that half of us decided to leave early. Apparently it was a wise decision, because my brother decided to stay and was smacked on his head a few times by a newbie, with a dandia.

When Sunday came around I was exhausted. The three of us made it to the airport with plenty of room to spare. But the flight home was thee most scarest airplane ride ever. The ride was so bumpy that no drinks were given during the flight, and no one was allowed to get up the whole trip. Not even to use the restroom. Besides the flight, I had an amazing time. Look forward to doing it again next year.
